Helen Jorgenson, age 83, died of congestive heart failure Monday, December 14, 2009 at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 21 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and at the church Monday one hour prior to the service.

Helen Lachelt was born January 4, 1926 in Glenwood, Minnesota to William and Mary (Raetz) Lachelt. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1943. She was employed by Northern States Power Company for four years. On March 29, 1946 she married Duane Jorgenson in Glenwood. They moved to Sauk Centre in 1954, where Helen was employed at St. Michael's Hospital for 22 years.

Helen was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Friends of the Library.

Survivors include six children, Nancy Lilienthal of Lakeville, Susan (Steve) Cobb of Plymouth, Michael (Mary Kay) Jorgenson of Golden Valley, Paula (Tim) Wegener of Minnetonka, Tom (Lisa) Jorgenson of Palmdale, California, and Amy Jorgenson of St. Louis Park; eleven grandchildren, Jonathan and Rachael Lilienthal, Jacob and Grant Cobb, Robin Schneekloth and Nicolas Wegener, Kelly and Abby Jorgenson, and Chelsea, Drew, and Lexie Jorgenson; one great-grandson, Logan Wegener.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane "Jorgy" Jorgenson on February 11, 2002; brother, Aloise Lachelt; and half-brother, John Parker.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jacob and Grant Cobb, Jonathan Lilienthal, Nic and Tim Wegener, and Bruce Schneekloth. Cross bearer will be Tom Jorgenson and scripture bearer will be Rachael Lilienthal. Honorary bearers will be Leander Moritz, Dean & Elayne Schluter, Arleigh Lund, Mike Parker, Patty Messer, Margaret Meyer, Iris Vogt, Gretchen Trones, Russ & Ruth Torfin.
