Helen Henry

Helen S. Henry, age 75, of Sauk Centre, died from leukemia, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Helen Sophia Ahrens was born May 21, 1936 in Kandota Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Michael and Lillian (Kortan) Ahrens. She married Jordan Henry on May 16, 1959 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Helen enjoyed cooking, sewing, bird watching, playing Bingo but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and St. Paul's Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her husband, Jordan Henry of Sauk Centre; children, Mitchell (Lisa) Henry of Sauk Centre, Gerald Henry of Jensen Beach, Florida, and Janis (Mike) Fearing of Long Prairie; grandchildren, Brianna Henry, Brandi Fearing, Alyssa Henry, Chelsea Fearing, Cody Henry, Faith Henry and Owen Henry; brothers and sisters, Gen (Bob) Thieschafer of Sauk Centre, Donald (Crystal) Ahrens of Eagle Bend, Henry (Ardith) Ahrens of Eagle Bend, Bert Leagjeld of Long Prairie, and Linda (Chris) Carlson of Meridian Idaho.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents.

Serving as casket bearers will be Edmond Heinze, Pat Henry, Michael Ahrens, Wade Walker, John Leagjeld, and Dave Hoosline. Serving as cross bearer will be Jim Hoosline.
