Harold J. Reuter, age 56 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating and Deacon Larry Lawinger assisting. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with military honors provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Harold James Reuter was born June 7, 1957 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, to Melvin "Tim" and Esther (List) Reuter. After graduating from Sauk Centre High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. When he was honorably discharged, he returned to Sauk Centre and worked at Dairyland Supply, Kostreba Construction, and was the owner and operator of Reuter's Country Lanes (RCL's). For the past 16 years, Harold worked for Centre Dairy as a refrigeration specialist.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the musical group, Rejoice in Hymn. Harold was a Minnesota sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing bar sports such as pool, foosball, darts, and bowling. He also enjoyed motorcycling, driving his 280Z, playing cribbage, and, most of all, he loved being a grandpa.
Survivors include his fiancé, Pam Dougherty of Sauk Centre; children, Chase Reuter of Sauk Centre and Chad Reuter of Sauk Centre; mother, Esther Reuter of Sauk Centre; brothers and sisters, Betty (Clarence) Rooney of Padua, Ken (Mary) Reuter of Sauk Centre, Dale (Jane) Reuter of Sauk Rapids, Wayne (Carol) Reuter of Sauk Centre, Jan (Ron) Pallow of Sauk Centre, Mary (LeRoy) Kramer of Long Prairie, Joyce (Chris) Hunstiger of Sauk Centre, JoAnn (Larry) Lawinger of Maple Grove, and Anna "Nance" (CJ) Locy of Denver, Colorado; brother-in-law, Jack Jones of St. Cloud; and Pam's children, Danielle Dougherty and her children, Grace and Mason of Sauk Centre, and Brianna Dougherty of St. Cloud.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Melvin "Tim" Reuter on June 26, 1997; and sister, Doris Jones
Serving as casket bearers will be Shawn Hunstiger, Ryan Pallow, Ryan Lawinger, Tony Reuter, Mike Kramer, Randy Rooney, and Tim Reuter. Cross bearer will be Rick Minette and scripture bearer will be Jon Stein.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
