Gregory Beuning

Gregory J. "Greg" Beuning age 56 of St. Cloud, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 28 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis with Rev. John Odero officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the church.

Gregory John Beuning was born November 6, 1957 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Lawrence and Viola (Cremers) Beuning. Greg worked in hospitality in a number of restaurants in the St. Cloud area. He was active in Special Olympics where he won many medals and ribbons for swimming. Greg also enjoyed basketball, dancing, and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Vera (Jerry) Von Wahlde of Melrose, Helen (Ralph) Brake of Duluth, Mary Lou (Duane) Shay of Albany, Vern (Kathy) Beuning of St. Cloud, Bridget (Larry) Rinek of Santa Clara, California, Dale (Lawreen) Beuning of Fort Madison, Iowa, Dennis (Maureen) Beuning of Warner Robins, Georgia, Bonnie (Steven) Donnay of Sauk Centre, Roger (Peggy) Beuning of Annandale, and Rick (Carole) Beuning of Cleveland, Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Viola Beuning; sister, Helen Jane Beuning; and nephew, Roderick Shay.

Serving as casket bearers will be Charlie Beuning, Andy Beuning, Richard Beuning, Steven Shay, Brian Shay, John Von Wahlde, Dan Von Wahlde, and Eric Beuning. Cross bearer will be Wayne Shay and scripture bearer will be Nikki Halverson. Readers will be Dave Von Wahlde and Matthew Beuning.
