Grace Lamb

Grace L. Lamb, age 99 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home at Fairway Pines in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A family graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Grace Lillian Lamb was born April 18, 1917 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Alvin E. and Mary (Frisk) Lamb. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School and the Sauk Centre Teacher Training Department. Grace furthered her education by graduating from the St. Cloud State College with a degree in elementary education. Her teaching career spanned 40 years. It began in the rural school of District #49 in Stearns County and continued at Becker, Minnesota, Pine City, Minnesota, and many years at Whittier School in Brainerd.

She was a life member of the United Methodist Church. Grace was a lifetime member of the Minnesota Education Association and presently a member of the National Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Orville (Virginia) Lamb of Alexandria, Roger (Pam) Lamb of Stillwater, Jane (Gary) Pettit of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Mary Lynn (Ted) Spencer of Griffin, Georgia, and Brenda (Tom) Lancaster of Westminster, South Carolina.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin E. and Mary Lamb; brothers, Winfield (Elverna) Lamb and Donald (Marilyn) Lamb; and nephew, Donald Lamb.
