Goldie M. Pangburn, age 94, of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6 at First United Church of Christ with Rev. James Clausen officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Goldie Pangburn was born May 3, 1914 in Long Prairie, Minnesota to Charles Nicholas "Nick" and Cecile (Cooper) McColley. She is the oldest of eight children. On May 7, 1931 she married Fay Pangburn in Long Prairie, MN. The couple owned and operated Pangburn's Paint Store from 1947 to 1965. She was a foster grandmother for 20 years and received national honors. She lived in Riverview Apartments in Sauk Centre for 20 years. She was a member of First United Church of Christ and a member of the Eastern Star for 62 years.

Survivors include her children, Shirley (Donald) Hauck of Brainerd, Joan Dean of Long Beach, California, Susan Pangburn of Mesa, Arizona and Grant "Butch" Pangburn of Long Prairie; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Eldred of Eldon, Missouri; and brother, Merle McColley of Stillwater, Minnesota.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fay Pangburn on May 19, 1990; and five siblings.

Serving as casket bearers will be Bruce Hauck, Brian Hauck, Scott Hauck, Chad Hauck, Tristan Lindsay and David McColley.
