Gloria Schmidt

Gloria F. Schmidt, age 64, of Melrose, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 19 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Pastor Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.

Gloria F. Johnson was born April 27, 1946 in Duluth, Minnesota to Carl and Martha (Burgess) Johnson. She married Daniel Schmidt on June 18, 1993 in Maple Grove, Minnesota. She worked at Stearns Veterinary Outlet in Melrose for many years. Gloria enjoyed bowling and going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Schmidt of Melrose; children, Tavane Bergstrom of Sauk Centre, Pam (Tony) Cleary of Lebanon, IN, Jackie (Joe) Tschida of Melrose, Patty (Tim) Welle of Maple Grove, Joan (Rick) Serafin of Minneapolis, and John Schmidt of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald "Chopper" Bergstrom; and infant brother, Samuel Johnson.
