Geraldine Lyon

Geraldine A. Lyon, age 61 of Foreston formerly of Sauk Centre, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at her home in Foreston, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Pastor Timothy Sutton officiating. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Geraldine Ann Van Heel was born May 23, 1951 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Hubert and Frances (Huhne) Van Heel. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1969. Geraldine worked for Gorham Oien Mechanical for most of her life. She enjoyed the simple things in life, including bird watching, sewing, gardening, reading and time with her beloved grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Michele (Thomas) Kirchner of Onamia, Jeremy (Stephanie) Lyon of Oak Park, and Jonathan (Kimberly) Lyon of Foley; grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Emily, and Melanie Lyon; brother and sisters, Alice Molitor, Barb (Rich) Retka, and Mike Van Heel all of St. Cloud, and Gordon (Jeanne) Van Heel of Minneapolis; and brother-in-law, James Anderson of Grey Eagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Scott Determan; brother and sister, Angeline Anderson and Delbert Van Heel; brother-in-law, Cliff Molitor; and special friend, Glen Brown.

Serving as urn bearer will be McKenzie Lyon. Honorary bearers will be Michele Kirchner, Jeremy Lyon, and Jonathan Lyon.
