Gerald A. Pfannenstein (Jerry), age 75 of Melrose, died May 5th, 2018 at home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.
A Mass of burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday., May 11th, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held at Patton Schad Funeral Home in Melrose on Thursday, May 10th, 2018 from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Friday, May 11th in the church one hour prior to the service. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Jerry was born April 6th, 1943 in St. Joseph, MN to Michael and Hildegarde (Kosel) Pfannenstein. He married Mary Alice Behrenbrinker on Oct. 24th, 1964 at Holy Angels in St. Cloud. He attended Cathedral High School and was a graduate of St. Cloud State University. Jerry was a teacher at Melrose High School for 32 years, and worked at CAP Enterprise throughout his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and his grandkids. He was also an avid Nascar Jeff Gordon fan, and was an ingenious designer…there was no problem that couldn't be solved!
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Alice Pfannenstein of Melrose; his sons Jeff of Avon, and Keith of Fishers, IN; daughter Lyn (Mark) Wendlandt of Big Lake; four grandchildren, Charlie, Megan, Jenna and Mason; siblings Charles (Joan), Ron (Marie) and Ruth (Lloyd) Pallansch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Michael, James, Lois, Dorothy, Gladys, and Andrene.
