Gary Arthur Gamradt was born September 10, 1952 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Earl and Alvina (Farrow) Gamradt. He grew up on the farm outside of Sauk Centre with 4 brothers and an angry rooster. Gary graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1970 and left for basic training on Christmas day in 1971. Gary married Shari (Nelson) on May 27, 1972 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, MN. Together they raised their family while Gary was active duty in the military. During that time Gary had the opportunity to work with the family business doing construction. Gary was also an entrepreneur, opening Heartland Gallery in 1993, which he still ran with his wife. Gary retired from the military after 28 years but continued his dedication to his country by working in Veterans service. Gary loved his family and looked for any opportunity to spend time with them. He was a jack of all trades, master of all.

Gary was a very dedicated and involved member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 67, and the Sauk Centre Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife, Shari Gamradt; children, Terry (Heidi) Gamradt of Shakopee, Renee (Brian) Nelson of Mapleton, Amber (Justin) Smith of Fargo, ND; brothers, Kenny (special friend Gail) of Sauk Centre, Bob (Cele) Gamradt of Sauk Centre, Mark (Karen) Gamradt of Sauk Centre; and his grandchildren, Chase, Hailey, and Brynn.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Lief Nelson; infant son, Gene Gamradt; and brother, Albert Gamradt.
