Gail P. Holm, age 74 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Gail Patricia Horner was born October 28, 1944 to Gordon and Margaret (Reifel) Horner. She graduated from Wrenshall High School and continued her education at University of Minnesota of Duluth; graduating with a teaching degree. She married Kenneth “Butch” Holm on September 2, 1967 at Wrenshall Presbyterian Church in Wrenshall, Minnesota. Gail began her teaching career in Wrenshall.  In 1975, Butch and Gail moved to Sauk Centre where she taught for 32 years at the public school. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities, tending her flowers, and going to local high school sports events. Most of all, she enjoyed walking with her best friend, Barb Hartmann.

Gail was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the choir, taught Sunday School, sat on the church board as treasurer, and set up communion for many services.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth “Butch” Holm of Sauk Centre; sons, Kevin (Kristi) Holm of Brandon, South Dakota and Brad (Linda) Holm of Albany;  grandchildren, Allison, Nathan, Brandon, and Kyle Holm; brothers, Richard “Dick” (Pat) Horner of Oak Grove, Dale Horner of Pine River, and David (Mary) Horner of Minneapolis; and sister-in-law, Jan Knutson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Margaret Horner; step mother, Dolly Horner; and nephew, Brian Horner.

Serving as casket bearers will be Kevin, Brad, Allison, Nathan, Brandon, and Kyle Holm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
