Fred Neubert, age 75, of Sauk Centre, passed away from heart failure on Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 17 at Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor Joe DiVietro officiating. Military honors will be held by Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard at the church following the service. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church in Sauk Centre.
Fred Neubert was born July 16, 1942 in Faribault, Minnesota to Frederick and Wanda (Mohler) Neubert. He graduated from Faribault High School and then went to Minnesota State University in Mankato to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. Fred served in the U.S. Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. He went on to teaching in Anchorage, Alaska and then Owatonna, Minnesota, where he also farmed for years. Fred and his wife, Eleanor purchased the Dairy Queen in Sauk Centre in 1975. After selling the business he had an elk farm.
Fred was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre. He was known as faithful to his Savior Jesus Christ and passionate about sharing the gospel. He was a great friend, fisherman, farmer, and fun family man.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor (Schlobohm) of Sauk Centre; three sons, Timothy (Krista) Neubert, Aaron (Jessica) Neubert, and Matthew (Tiffany) Neubert; two daughters, Nancy (Jim) Luteran and Tanya (Scott) Imdieke; 25 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Philip Cruz.
