Frank J. Scott, age 81 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 4th at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre with military honors provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Frank Junior Scott was born October 14, 1933 in Round Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Frank and Ethel (Stanhope) Scott. He served in the U.S. Army from July 18, 1956 through May 21, 1958. On October 20, 1962 he married Doris Miller at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville. The couple lived in Coon Rapids and Randall before moving to Sauk Centre in 1973. Frank was president of Scott Manufacturing in Sauk Centre which later became Standard Iron.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre where he held many offices including Elder, President, and Trustee. Frank also was a member of Sauk Centre Opportunities and was on the advisory board at Alexandria Technical School. He enjoyed playing cards and Mexican Train, watching football, traveling, especially the trip to Alaska, and showing his sons the United States. Frank was very mechanical and willing to fix anything for his family, friends, and church friends. Most of all, he loved spending time and doing many things with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Scott of Sauk Centre; sons, Perry (Deanna) Scott of Chanhassen and Paul (Veronica) Scott of Faribault; five grandchildren, James, Jesse, Jake, Vera, and Julia; sister, Lois Boyer of Long Prairie; brother, Jim (Barbara) Scott of Brooklyn Park; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford Scott, Clarence Scott, and Chauncey Scott; and sisters, Martha Boyer and Irene Pederson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
