Frank Meagher

Frank C. Meagher II, age 33 of Cottage Grove, formerly of Burtrum, died accidentally on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be in Moses Dane cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Frank Clifford Meagher II was born May 22, 1977 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Frank and Diane (Veldkamp) Meagher. He was united in marriage to Kristine Thies on June 30, 2007 at Maple Island Park in Little Falls. Ten years ago, Frank started his own business called United Tree Service. He then was employed by Kaufmann Enterprises for the past five years.

Frank enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and fishing. He truly loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Kristine Meagher of Cottage Grove; children, Frank C. Walter Meagher III, Tiffani, Stephanie, Brittani, and Mallory; granddaughter, Layla; parents, Frank and Diane Meagher of Burtrum; brothers and sister, Jeff Meagher of Burtrum, Mark (Debbie) Meagher of Bloomington, Danny (Tammy) Meagher of Bowlus, and Laura (Jeffry) Kurtz of Swanville; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Theresa Meagher, and Engbert and Joyce Veldkamp; and several uncles.

Serving as casket bearers will be Bob Kaufmann, Jeff Davis, Kirk Larson, Robert Veldkamp, Jr., Dean Axel, and Joe Muellner. Cross bearer will be Dylon Kurtz and scripture bearer will be Connor Meagher. Honorary bearers will be the employees at Kaufmann Enterprises. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
