Frank "Frankie" J. Bischoff, age 83 of Freeport, died Wednesday, March 5th at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Rev. Al Stangl, Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B., Rev. Luke Steiner, O.S.B., and Rev. Martin Rath, O.S.B. will concelebrate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport.

Frank Bischoff was born April 3, 1919 in Freeport, Minnesota to Frank and Catherine (Ritter) Bischoff. He was a custodian at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport for many years. He also worked part time at Freeport Hardware. Frank served in the Army during World War II, serving occasionally as a chauffeur for General George Patton. He was a member of the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 and was on the drill team for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport, St. Joseph's Men's Society, the Disabled American Veterans and a former Scoutmaster. Frank was patriotic all his life and had a love for the American flag. He was a man of great generosity who had a genuine love for children of all ages, the church and his country.

He is survived by many friends, nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine Bischoff; sister, Martha Hageman; twin sister, Veronica Bischoff; brothers, Norbert, Edmund, Maurice, Fred and August Bischoff.

Serving as casket bearers will be Phil Osendorf, Brian Schulzetenberg, John Thelen, Clarence Bischoff, Doug Bischoff and Harry Bischoff.
Cross bearer will be Diane Pierce with Janet Butkowski as scripture bearer.

Military Honors are provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
