[b]Francis J. Tomsche, age 74, of Sauk Centre, died peacefully Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 2 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the Sauk Centre United Veterans prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Francis Tomsche was born on December 23, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joseph and Rosalia (Wilwerding) Tomsche. He graduated from St. Boniface School in Minneapolis. Francis was a member of the US Army Reserves and was called into active duty to serve in the Korean War. After serving in the military he worked as a conductor brakeman for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Wyoming. Francis retired to Sauk Centre, Minnesota.Francis was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, American Legion Past 67 of Sauk Centre, and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853.
Francis is survived by his brother and sisters, Joseph Tomsche of St. Paul, Genevieve Cunningham of Bloomington, Theresa Mancuso of Minneapolis, and Sister Julia Tomsche of Rochester; many nieces and nephews; relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rosalia (Wilwerding) Tomsche; brother-in-law, Albert "Al" Mancuso.[/b]
