Francis M. "Frank" Hall, age 89 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 2 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Jeff Ethen officiating. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Francis Marion Hall was born February 11, 1921 in Pelican Township, Crow Wing County, Minnesota to William and Alma (Taylor) Hall. Frank grew up on a dairy farm near Pequot Lakes. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army, Frank and his wife, Marcella, lived in Edina, where he worked for Anderson Iron Works. In the 1960s the couple moved to Arizona where Frank worked as a structural engineer. For the last ten years Frank has lived in Sauk Centre.Frank attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. He enjoyed steam engines, model trains, and working with solar panels. Frank also enjoyed donating his time with the St. Vincent de Paul charity.
Frank is survived by his grandsons, Dale (Sue) Westeren of San Antonio, Texas and Andy (Lisa) Westeren of Pine City; great-grandchildren, Haley, Spencer, Russell, and Jacqueline Westeren; nieces and nephews, Marlene Rolfsen of Chaska, David (Angie) Bauer of Elrosa, Dale (Barb) Bauer of Brainerd, Maryann Bauer of Elrosa, Marlene Bauer of Elrosa, and Paulette Bachman of Alexandria; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Roelike of Sauk Centre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Hall; daughter, Toni Westeren; sister, Alice Rolfsen; brothers, John, Leonard, Gene, and Mickey Hall.
