Francis P. Goffin, age 77 of St. Rosa died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa with Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB and Rev. Art Hoppe concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors by Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in St. Rosa.
Francis Goffin was born September 16, 1928 in Pine City, Minnesota to John and Susan (Dockendorf) Goffin. He was a graduate of Eden Valley High School. Fran served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Gerry Nohner on May 24, 1955 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. He was employed by Ford Motor Company in St. Paul for 30 years. Fran retired and he and Gerry moved to Big Birch Lake where they have resided for 28 years. Fran was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rosa Lions and the American Legion Post 101. Fran loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also liked to spend time at the lake and playing cards.
Francis is survived by his wife, Gerry Goffin of St. Rosa; children, James Goffin of Princeton, Paul Goffin of St. Cloud and Mary Hoffman (Scott) of Grey Eagle; 4 grandchildren, Mallory and Natalie Goffin of Corcoran, and Ben and Amber Hoffman of Grey Eagle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Goffin.
Memorials are preferred.
