Frances Quade

Frances A. Quade, age 99 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at CentraCare Health Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor Mike Carlson and Pastor Becky Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at church.

Frances Alvina Graber was born February 13, 1919 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Frank and Marie (Wold) Graber and grew up on her parent's farm near St. Rosa. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1938 and continued her education at the Minnesota State Teachers College in St. Cloud, graduating in November of 1940. Frances taught at Kandiyohi Country School from 1941 through the summer of 1943. She then taught at Lyman Prairie Country School for five years. She was united in marriage to Gustave Virgil Quade on August 20, 1947 at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. They had a great marriage and celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in 2015. Frances and Virgil loved to travel and took many trips together.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre, Retirees Bible Study Group, Women's Church Ladies Aid, Lyman Prairie Birthday Club and Homemaker's Club, and was a Raymond Ashley 4-H Club Leader. Frances loved to play cards, BINGO, and visit with others. While on the farm, she raised a large garden and did a lot of canning and cooking. Frances loved rummage sales and auctions and had many collections in her home.

Frances will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Allen Gamradt of Sauk Centre; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jana Quade of Sauk Centre; six grandchildren, Eric Quade, Angela (Seth) Hanson, Neal (Eposi) Gamradt, Kayla (Shawn) Hunstiger, Cory Quade, and Colton Quade; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Quade on January 11, 2016; son, Gary Quade on July 8, 2008; her parents, Frank and Marie Graber; granddaughter-in-law, Grace Gamradt; sister, Mildred Moore; and brothers-in-law, Eugene Quade and Ervin Quade.
