Frances C. Lene, age 67, of Grey Eagle died after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home in Long Prairie, Minnesota.
Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 5 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ron Tibbetts officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church in Grey Eagle.
Frances Lene was born October 4, 1938 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Walter W. and Florence (Curtis) Walker. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Lene on November 14, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle. She was a passionate baker and enjoyed embroidery. Frances was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and a forgiving soul.
She will be missed by her loving husband of 44 years, Ken Lene of Grey Eagle; and her 48 year old baby girl, Carol Lene of Spring Lake Park. Other survivors that she had the utmost love for, include her father, Walter W. Walker of Burtrum; grandchildren, Amos and Tanya Johnson; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Walter J. Walker and his wife, Ardell of Champion, Michigan, David Walker of Grey Eagle, Donna Rech of Grey Eagle, William Walker and his wife, Marge of Minneapolis, Wallace Walker and his wife, Dorain of Burtrum, Delores Wolbeck and her husband, Ralph of Burtrum, Bonnie Eggerth and her husband, Marvin of Burtrum, and Rick Walter and his wife, Anita of Pillager; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Walker; two baby girls; Aunt Mary; Uncle Joe; and pet dogs, Jakey and Boze.
