Frances A. Diehl, age 89 of St.Cloud, formerly of Burtrum, died Sunday, March 21 at the Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Reverend Mark Willenbring officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Swanville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Grey Eagle. Christian Mothers will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the church.
Frances Ann Thieschafer was born January 15, 1921 in Melrose Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to George and Rose (Kemper) Thieschafer. She was a graduate of Burtrum High School in Burtrum. On September 30, 1941 she was united in marriage to Paul Diehl at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville. Frances was a homemaker, raising a family of six and also raised turkeys. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, and spent several years wintering in the south. Frances was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Diehl of St. Cloud; children, James (Carol) Diehl of St. Augusta, Richard (Karen) Diehl of Fargo, Kathy Kath of Sauk Rapids, Donald (Gail) Diehl of Darwin, and Sherry Leason of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Bob (Genevieve) Thieschafer of Sauk Centre; and sisters, Loretta Schuett of Little Falls and Delores Lehrke of Little Falls.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Contreras; an infant daughter; granddaughter, Monica Diehl; brother, Raymond Thieschafer; sisters, Alma Glantz, Adella Marthaler, Marie Dusek, Leona Kruzel, and Lorraine Schuett; and sons-in-law, Walter Kath and Chuck Leason.
Serving as casket bearers will be Frances' grandchildren, Jeff Diehl, Mike Diehl, Steve Diehl, Bob Diehl, Jason Kath, Brian Kath, Nicole Contreras, Tiffany Contreras, Jim Diehl, Jr., Heather Diehl-Reames, Becky Kath, Kelly Poole, Brooke Hill, Travis Leason, and McKensey Leason. Cross bearer will be Alex Diehl and scripture bearer will be Sister Linda Dusek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
