Floyd H. Ladwig, age 87 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 18 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will follow the lunch at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre with military honors by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11a.m. Saturday at the church.
Floyd Henry Ladwig was born July 29, 1934, in Wabasso, Minnesota to Henry and Jesse (Frank) Ladwig. He helped on the family farm until he joined the Army in 1957 where he earned his wings as a pilot. He served as an aircraft pilot and mechanic. He continued in the army reserve until 1964. This was his real passion the last several years. After the army, he married Lois Pinke on December 2, 1967. They had two daughters. Cheri was born in 1969 and Laurie in 1974. They lived in Sauk Centre where they farmed until 2016.
Floyd enjoyed nontraditional animals, including Buffalo and elk. He also enjoyed traveling and hunting which took him all over the country.
Survivors include his daughters, Cheri Ladwig of Sauk Centre and Laurie Bromenshenkel of Chanhassen; and grandsons, Joe and Chris Stadther and Cody Bromenshenkel.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ladwig on November 7, 2018; parents; sisters, Glennis Ladwig and Marilyn Stillwell; and brother, Orlin Ladwig.
