Florentine A. "Flo" Schneider, age 73 of Meire Grove died Monday, May 17, 2004 at her home in Meire Grove.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. John's Mission Group will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Florentine Schneider was born on September 22, 1930 in St. Anthony, Minnesota to John and Theresa (Schmidt) Urbashich. She was united in marriage to Werner Schneider, Sr. on May 29, 1952 in St. Anthony and later divorced. Flo worked at Fingerhut in Sauk Centre, Jennie - O Foods in Melrose and bartended at DB Saloon in Meire Grove. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed reading books, sewing and gardening. Flo was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove and St. John's Mission Group.
Survivors include her children, Dave Schneider and his wife, Amy of Crystal, Jerry Schneider and his wife, Mary of Cold Spring, Carol Thelen and her husband, John of St. Martin, Werner "Butch" Schneider, Jr. and his wife, Eileen of Cold Spring and Dan Schneider and his wife, Dana of Cold Spring; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; ex-husband, Werner Schneider, Sr. of Murdock; sisters and brother, Marian Kinder of Aberdeen, SD, Sally Thell and her husband, Jerry of St. Cloud, Joan Job and her husband, Art of Dayton, Jeanette Voit and her husband, Roger of Albany and John Urbashich and his wife, Mary Jane of St. Anthony.
Florentine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa Urbashich; granddaughter, Emily Thelen; and brother, Joe Urbashich.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jesse Thelen, Jacob Thelen, Aaron Schneider, Jay Kockler, Jeremy Robak and Andy Thull. Serving as cross bearer will be Melissa Kockler and scripture bearer will be Karlye Schneider. Honorary bearers will be Hope Schneider, Jodi Robak, Dana Schneider and Jody Thelen.
