Florence C. Miller, age 88 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the Glen Oaks Care Center in New London, Minnesota.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with inurnment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.
Florence was born on January 20, 1918 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Sigurd and Christine (Breher) Holme. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School and attended St. Cloud Normal School, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. Florence was united in marriage to Alfred Miller on July 10, 1946 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Together they resided on the "Miller" family farm in Getty Township. Florence was a homemaker and also taught school for many years in Elrosa, Belgrade, West Union and Meire Grove. She moved to Sauk Centre in 1985.Florence was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking and her grandchildren. Florence will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her strong faith, a tremendous personal spirituality and her great pies.
Florence is survived by her children, William (Mary) Miller of New London, Diane (Doug) Ewing of Grasonville, Maryland, and John (Pam) Miller of Frazee; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matt and Mark Miller, Douglas, Darren, Daniel and Dean Ewing, and Nathan and Donald Nelson; seven great-grand children; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Miller on August 11, 1980; and brothers Sigurd and Walter.
Memorials are preferred.
