Florence C. Kocher, age 90, of Sauk Centre died February 25, 2006 at the St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the parish Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday March 1, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. followed by Sinclair Lewis Aerie #3847 Eagles Auxiliary at 6 p.m. and Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Florence Kocher was born March 30, 1915 in Grove Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Frank and Willamina (Schwegman) Marthaler. She married Joseph Kocher on January 15, 1935 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove. They lived in Hague for a short time before moving to Minneapolis in May of 1936. In 1976, after retirement, they moved to Fairy Lake where they enjoyed fishing, dancing and playing cards. Over the years they have traveled extensively, visiting 46 states and numerous countries. For the past several years they resided in Sauk Centre. After Joseph died in 2005, Florence moved to Getty Street Assisted Living in Sauk Centre. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Sauk Centre, Christian Mothers and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, Ron Kocher (Joyce) of Minnetrista; grandchildren, John and Jeremiah Kocher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph on February 11, 2005; son, Duane Kocher, brothers and sisters, Henrietta Kulzer, Joseph Marthaler, William Marthaler, Alphonse Marthaler, Hildagard Schmiesing, Caroline Sulem, Edwin Marthaler and Irene Wallander.
Casket bearers will be Virgil and Melvin Marthaler, Tony Jennissen, Clyde Uphus, Robert Schmiesing and Russell Waterman. Cross bearer will be John Kocher and scripture bearer will be Jeremiah Kocher.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre.
