Evelyn C. Notch, age 87 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, November 2, 2009 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 9 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Tim Wenzel will officiate with interment following in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Evelyn Wander was born July 9, 1922 in Spring Hill, Minnesota to Henry and Mary (Tromboli) Wander. On October 14, 1940 she married Anton "Tony" Notch at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple farmed near Elrosa until retiring and moving to Sauk Centre in 1984. Since January 7, 2009 she had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home.Evelyn enjoyed gardening, canning, beadwork, BINGO, and going on group outings with her daughter, Helen.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Notch of Sauk Centre; sisters and brothers, Margaret Scheunemann of Aurora, Virgil Wander of Underwood, Rose (Arnold) Jonas of Avon, Alquin Wander of Leesville, Louisiana, and Henry (Sherry) Wander, Jr. of Coon Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony Notch on March 13, 2009; sisters and brother, Marcella Nelson, Loretta Kloeppner, and Boniface Wander; mother and father-in-law, Gertrude and John Notch.
Serving as casket bearers will be Darrell Kloeppner, Marvin Jonas, Duke Koehn, Tom Toenjes, Keith Jacobs, and Dennis Scheunemann. Honorary bearers will be Brenda Porter, Marlene Gwost, Florentine Hens, Bernice Zenzen, Carol Mohs, and Judy Jonas. Cross bearer will be Holly Jacobs and scripture bearer will be Hayley Keller.
