[b]Eva M. Marthaler, age 77 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.
Eva Marthaler was born January 19, 1929 in Watertown, South Dakota to Joseph and Gertrude (Hartman) Tauscher. On October 15, 1949 she married Bernard A. Marthaler in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed in Ashley Township, Stearns County until 1984. For many years she had been a 4-H leader. She then resided in St. Cloud and later moved to Riverview Manor in Sauk Centre. For the past four months she had resided at the Glenwood Retirement Village.She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
Survivors include nine children, Cheryl (Jerry) Van Der Pol of Brownwood, Texas, Dr. Richard (Connie) Marthaler of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, Dean (Doreen) Marthaler of Grey Eagle, Gary (Rosemarie) Marthaler of Sauk Centre, Tom Marthaler of Osakis, Charlotte (Lee) Mekus of Lawrence, Kansas, Ted Marthaler of Westminster, Colorado, Marsha Marthaler of St. Cloud and Doug (Kelly) Marthaler of Camas, Washington; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard A. Marthaler on April 11, 1988; and sister, Audrey Bonovsky.[/b]
