Erma Henry

Erma T. Henry, age 90 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Pine Haven at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Erma Theresa Klein was born March 11, 1921 in Albany, Minnesota to Paul and Rose (Baggenstoss) Klein. Erma attended school through the eighth grade. On July 31, 1939 she married George B. Henry at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple made their home in Sauk Centre. Erma worked at Fingerhut, as a cook at the Palmer House and Diamond Point, and cleaned many homes in the Sauk Centre area. She enjoyed gardening and yard work, embroidery and sewing, singing, dancing, painting, baking, and playing cards. Erma especially loved spending time visiting with family.

Erma was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary.

Erma is survived by her children, Richard "Dick" Henry of Melrose, Nona (Roman) Klaphake of Spring Hill, Rita (Duane) Frieler of Elrosa, Ann Marie Dalton of Little Sauk, and Bonnie (Art) Schloegl of Sauk Centre; 24 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Verna Koehn, Ardell Rustad, Doris Koehn, Arlene Landowski, Beverly Litchy, Janet Cigelske, Carol Rodenwald, and Sharon Lehner; and brother, Ervin Klein.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Henry on April 26, 1997; parents, Paul and Rose Klein; sisters, Hildegard Henry, Amanda Wren, Bernice Koehn, and Rose Christen; and brothers, Alvin Klein, Gerald Klein, Marvin Klein, Lloyd Klein, and Earl Klein.

Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons, Ron Dalton, Duane Frieler, Jr., Jamie Schloegl, Jason Schloegl, Jeffrey Klaphake, and Michael Klaphake. Serving as cross bearer will be her granddaughter, Tammy Bruder and scripture bearer will be her granddaughter, Barb Stang.
