Emil F. Polipnick, age 83 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 29 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Emil Polipnick was born April 1, 1925 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Emil, Sr. and Margaret (Unger) Polipnick. He attended country school in District 138 and was a 1942 graduate of Sauk Centre High School. On October 30, 1948 he married June Dickinson at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed with his parents until 1952. He then owned and operated Polipnick Beverage Company in Sauk Centre. He only semi-retired, as he drove school bus for Sauk Centre Public Schools for many years, and also cut and sold wood. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and was a former member of Sinclair Lewis Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.Emil enjoyed card playing, watching sports, especially the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers. He had also been an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, June Polipnick of Sauk Centre; three sons, Tim (Susan) Polipnick of Nisswa, Tom (Judy) Polipnick of Sauk Centre, and Todd (Meredith) Polipnick of North Branch; daughter, Nancy (Shane) Patzer of Miami, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Tom (Jackie George) Polipnick, Jr. and daughters, Avery and Finley; Brianna Polipnick; Kirstin (Will) Siegfried and son, Zachary; Kayla Patzer; Richard (Rebecca) Polipnick and children, Kayla, Darius, Austin, Brittney, and Ella; sister, Alice Bromen of Sauk Centre.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Esther Determan and Delores Ayers; granddaughter, Erin Polipnick.
Serving as casket bearers will be Rick Johns, Richard Polipnick, Ed Nelson, Tom Polipnick, Jr., Shane Patzer, and Bob Koch. Cross bearer will be Darius Polipnick and scripture bearer will be Austin Polipnick.
