Elmer Domke

Elmer R. Domke, age 93 of Sauk Centre died Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. R. E. Bloemker will officiate with interment following at St. Paul's Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Elmer Domke was born on August 7, 1911 in Woodstock, Minnesota to Frank and Bertha (Judes) Domke. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School and attended college at University of Minnesota for 2 years. He was united in marriage to Elvera Mahigan on June 11, 1940 at St. Paul's Rectory in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed southwest of Sauk Centre and retired in 1961. Elmer worked at Steiner Lumber Company in Sauk Centre for 20 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Sauk Centre Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his sister, Hazel Marshall of St. Paul; many nieces and nephews; and many grand nieces and nephews.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elvera Domke on October 31, 2000; and brothers, Arthur and Howard.

Serving as casket bearers will be Russell Domke, Clarence Domke, Earl Domke, Fritz Domke, Dick Mahigan and Robert Stepp. Honorary bearers will be Elmer's grand nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
