Elizabeth Ring

Elizabeth M. Ring, 87, of Villard, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the Community Memorial Nursing Home in Osakis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2004 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.

Elizabeth Ring was born August 16, 1917 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John W. and Mary (Doubrava) Gillies. She married Frances J. Ring on June 19, 1945 in Minneapolis. They were potato farmers in Kempton, ND later purchasing the home farm at Northwood, ND. They retired and moved to Grand Forks in 1984. Elizabeth was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks where she served on the funeral committee for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening in her early years. She sewed clothing and enjoyed to cook and bake. She loved visits from her family and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Donald Ring of Villard and Bernard Ring (Mary Ann) of Rochester; sister, Irene Engle of Sauk Centre; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Leonard, Hank, Julius and Ervin Gillies.

Casket bearers will be grandsons, James, Paul, Michael, and Jacob Ring, Aaron Grossman and Brad Gillies. Cross bearer will be Mary Ring.
