Eleanore E. Hoff, age 87 of Avon, formerly of Sauk Centre, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon with Rev. Blane Wasnie, O.S.B. officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Eleanore Eva Schaff was born December 14, 1926 in Brisbane, North Dakota to Cornelius and Valeria (Hintz) Schaff. She was united in marriage to John Hoff on May 29, 1945 in Flasher, North Dakota. Eleanore was a caretaker at the Lane Children's Home in Sauk Centre. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon, and the Christian Mothers at St. Benedict's and Our Lady of the Angels in Sauk Centre. Eleanore enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a wonderful mother who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Mary (David) Raymond of Nashua, New Hampshire, Theresa Burnham of Brooklyn Park, Bonnie (Florian) Roehrich of Bismarck, North Dakota, Regina Logue of Sun City, California, Dody (Denis) Wenninger of Sauk Centre, and Gloria (Rob) Kleinschmidt of Avon; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Carol) Schaff of Billings, Montana; and daughter-in-law, Patti Hoff of St. Cloud.
Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoff on February 3, 1984; parents; son, John Paul Hoff on January 2, 2014; sisters, Anna Gross, Margaret Miller, Mary Riehl, Theresa Ternes, and Rose Fleck; brother, Jack Schaff; granddaughters, Jeanmarie Costello and Isabella Kleinschmidt; sons-in-law, Brian Logue and Dan Costello; and granddaughter-in-law, Mary Roehrich.
