Elaine Guinn

Elaine F. Guinn, age 97, of Sauk Centre, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Fairway Pines in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 21 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

Elaine Frances Singsank was born March 20, 1919 in Belgrade, Minnesota to John and Teresa (Honkomp) Singsank. She graduated from Belgrade High School. Elaine was united in marriage to Kenneth H. Guinn on June 11, 1940 at St. Frances DeSales Church in Belgrade. They moved to Seattle, Washington for three years and returned to Sauk Centre during World War II. In addition to Elaine being a successful homemaker she had part time and full time jobs throughout her life.

Elaine had a home on Fairy Lake where she enjoyed gardening, entertaining, relaxing, family get togethers, and watching the grandkids swim and play. Elaine and Kenny loved to dance and belonged to the Alley Cats club. Elaine danced well into her 80's. She was also an excellent cook, avid reader, and liked to travel. She was a gracious and beautiful woman inside and out.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the VFW and Legion Auxillaries.

Survivors include her children, Donald (Linda) Guinn of Blairsville, GA, David Guinn of Robbins, NC, Sandra (Daniel) Gulliver of Lake Forrest, IL, Nancy (Patrick) Mitchell of Avon, Julie (Brian) Teigland of Chanhassen, Kathryn (Michael) Molitor of Rochester, Robert (Janet) Guinn of Eagan, Thomas (Diane) Guinn of Eagan, and Mark (Linda) Guinn of Sauk Centre; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Guinn on February 2, 1987; parents, John and Teresa Singsank; daughter-in-law, Bridget (David) Guinn; brother, Herbert Singsank; sister, Leora Moore; and one grandchild.

Serving as casket bearers will be Travis Jungers, Nicholas Teigland, Luke Teigland, John Mitchell, Christian Mitchell, and Tyler Molitor. Cross bearers will be Brady Molitor and Samantha Wilson and scripture bearer will be Tanya Stafford. Readers will be Janet Guinn and Linda Guinn. Serving as gift bearers will be Kateri Peterson, Katherine Motty, and Kristine Wilson. Rose bearers will be Andrea Guinn, Jenna Guinn, Alexandra Guinn, Susan Guinn, and Jessica Guinn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Legion Post 67 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
