Eileen Wessel Dold, age 87 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11a.m. Monday, October 5 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Jeff Ethan officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral home in Sauk Centre.

Eileen Wessel was born September 28, 1922 along with her triplet sisters, Ione and Irene, in Melrose, Minnesota to Bernard and Rose (Inderrieden) Wessel. On June 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leo Dold at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple farmed north of Elrosa until 1978 when they built their retirement home nearby. Eileen will be remembered for her love of family and sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, and walking.

Eileen is survived by her children, Ken (Diane) Dold of Sauk Centre, Jan (Dale) Zaczkowski of Sauk Centre, Jude (Dan) Rooney of Prescott, Wisconsin, Steve (Sue) Dold of Sauk Centre, Jo Dold LeJeune of Denver, Colorado, Deb (Stan) Berscheit of Plymouth, Sharon (Mark) Gunkel of Akeley, Diane (Steve) Svercl of San Diego, California, and Paul (Chikako) Dold of Honolulu, Hawaii; 15 granddaughters; 10 grandsons; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alvina Woeste of Melrose and Clara Conrad of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Dold on March 15, 1996; daughter, Bonnie on February 12, 1980; parents; brothers, Joe, John and Aloysious; sisters, Frances, Rose, Josephine, Mary, Fran, Ann, Katherine, Irene, and Ione.

Serving as casket bearers will be Craig Dold, Scott Zaczkowski, Ben Dold, Dan Rooney, Jr., Patrick LeJeune, Andy Berscheit, Jonathon Gunkel, and Brian Rooney. Serving as cross bearer will be Leo Dold and scripture bearer will be Emma Dold.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Michael's Hospice.
