Edward "Ed" Russ

Edward A. “Ed” Russ, age 95 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the CentraCare Hospital in Long Prairie, Minnesota.

An inurnment will be held at a later date in Biwabik.

Edward Anthony Russ was born December 20, 1926 in Gilbert, Minnesota to Ignatius and Rosalia (Lah) Russ. He was united in marriage to Pauline Simmonson on October 18, 1952 in Gilbert, Minnesota. Ed was a dairy farmer his entire life until he was 80 years old. He enjoyed driving four-wheeler around the countryside, helping neighbors farm, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Karen Cucich of St. Cloud, Vickie (Willard) Martinson of Gilbert, Dennis (Carrie) Russ of Melrose, Steve (Marion) Russ of St. Cloud, and Jolene (Jeff) Poepping of Sauk Centre; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Tina Gibson of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Russ on June 24, 1993; parents; and numerous brothers and sisters.
