Edward M. Kilanowski, age 86 of Sauk Centre died Friday, November 12, 2004 at the St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2004 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre with the Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be 5:15 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Edward Kilanowski was born Oct. 12, 1918 in Ward Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Adam S. and Mary (Drayna) Kilanowski. He married Virginia A. Motl on Nov. 27, 1943 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Browerville. They farmed in Ward Township until selling the farm in 1955. They moved to Long Prairie where he was employed at Lux Implement. In 1969 they moved to Fairy Lake and he was employed by Super America in Sauk Centre as well as being a subcontractor for building houses until he retired in 1981. Ed was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Kilanowski of Sauk Centre; children, Leroy Kilanowski of Browerville, Sharon Walter (Melvin) of Sauk Centre, David Kilanowski of Lakeland, FL, Roger Kilanowski (Karen) of Madison Lake, and Michael Kilanowski (Theresa) of St. Cloud; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brother, Theresa Adamitz, Isabella, and Anthony Kilanowski; half sisters and brothers, Victoria Duda, John J. Borek, Mary Drong, Sam Kilanowski and Frank Borek.

Casket bearers will be Todd and Troy Walter, Chris, Matthew, Adam, Andrew and Benjamin Kilanowski. Cross bearer will be Tim Walter and scripture bearer will be Jennifer Behler.
