Edward Hennen

Edward L. "Ed" Hennen, age 68, of Freeport, died unexpectedly in his sleep on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at his home in Freeport, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Freeport. Goldenaires Senior Citizens will pray at 4 p.m. followed parish prayers at 5 p.m., St. Joseph's Men's Society and the Lions at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.

Edward Lloyd Hennen was born July 22, 1942 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Herbert and Lidwina (Kilian) Hennen. On September 6, 1969 he married Judith Klasen at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. Ed owned and operated Hennen Floor Covering in Freeport since 1970. He loved to golf, bowl, travel, play pull tabs and cards. Ed could not go a day without visiting with people.

Ed was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport, St. Joseph's Men's Society, Freeport Lions, American Legion Post 101, St. Peter's Court 1553 Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Albany Sportsman Club.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Hennen of Freeport; children, Joe Hennen of Freeport and Kim (Kyle) Gillespie of White Bear Lake.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tom Hennen.

Serving as casket bearers will be Arnie Barthel, Duane Ebensteiner, Steve Revermann, Henry Ahrens, Gerry Boeckermann, and Jeff Hoeschen. Cross bearer will be Tim Hennen and scripture bearers will be Jane Austing and Mike Hennen. Gift bearers will be Tim Olson and John Hennen. The eulogy will be read by Mary Mahler. Honorary bearers will be the Freeport Lions.
