Edward B. Bieringer, age 88 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, August 2, 2010, at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 6 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the Knights of Columbus at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Edward Ben Bieringer was born September 20, 1921 in Ashley Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Anton and Mary (Merten) Bieringer. On September 20, 1943 he married Irene Rousslang at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple lived in the Sauk Centre area all of their lives. Ed farmed outside of Sauk Centre from 1942 until 1959. Ed then did carpentry and construction work from 1959 until retiring in 1991. He worked for Wolbeck Construction, D.H. Blattner Construction, TriCity Paving, and Sauk Centre Excavating. The couple also owned and operated Sportsman's Bar in Sauk Centre from 1966 to 1969. Ed enjoyed putting together puzzles and making rosaries.
Ed was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and Bishop Busch Council 4863 Knights of Columbus.
Ed is survived by his sister, Dorothy (Don) Fennell of Park Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Bieringer on May 27, 1992; parents; brothers, Carl, John, Joe, and Ben Bieringer; sisters, Regine Schieffer, Rose Ebensteiner, Louise McIntyre, Elizabeth Reznechek, Katherine Rousslang, Teresa Califf, and Verena Bieringer.
Serving as casket bearers will be John Bieringer, Duane Rousslang, Clarence Rousslang, Duane Reznechek, Karen Housman, and Mary Keating. Honorary bearers will be the Knights of Columbus. Serving as cross bearer will be Judy Powers and scripture bearer will be Betty Felling.
