Duane Young

Duane E. Young, age 59 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 9 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating.

Friends may call from one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Duane Edward Young was born October 4, 1950 in Bull Moose Township, Cass County, Minnesota to Charles and Joan (Simmens) Young. On November 4, 1972 he was united in marriage to Gloria Semmler at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Duane enjoyed spending his time outdoors, whether it was hunting, riding his motorcycle, or driving his golf cart with his dog Kodi chasing after him. He also enjoyed traveling and he was always happy when there were "tookies" around, no matter what the flavor. Duane was very proud of his family and loved spending time with them.

Duane is survived by his wife Gloria Young of Sauk Centre; children, John (Robyn) Semmler of Longville, Tammy (Pat) Georges of Foreston, Julie (Darrell) Muellner of Sauk Centre, April Young of Sauk Centre, and Tyler Young of Sauk Centre; grandchildren, Robin Gauven, Cheyanne Kotz, Kyle Kotz, Zachery Semmler, Andrea Semmler, Alyssa Semmler, Wyatt Semmler, Nickolas Lamusga, Gwendalynn Lamusga, and Abrianna Muellner; great-grandchildren, Ryliegh Powers and Kiera Kotz; mother, Joan Young of Sauk Centre; sister, Christine (Bill) Young of Tucson, Arizona; brothers, Mike (Loni) Young of Holdingford and Darrel Young of Holdingford; three nieces; and seven nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Young on January 13, 1970; father, Charles Young on December 27, 1983; and brother, Neil Young on September 29, 1994.

Serving as urn bearer will be his son, Tyler Young.

Memorials are preferred.
