Duane Isaksen

Duane E. Isaksen, age 80 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21 at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor Becky Thomas officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Duane Ervin Isaksen was born February 1, 1936 in Windom, Minnesota to Ervin and Erna (Meyer) Isaksen. At the age of five, Duane's family moved to the farm outside of Springfield, Minnesota. Duane graduated from Springfield High School in 1954. On November 16, 1958, he was united in marriage to Carol Jensen at Sundown Lutheran Church in Springfield, Minnesota. Following their marriage, Duane and Carol moved to the Twin Cities and he worked as a machinist for multiple businesses. Together, Duane and Carol raised two wonderful daughters. He was a proud Dad and father-in-law. Duane enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and spending time at the lake. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Duane was member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carol Isaksen of Sauk Centre; and two daughters, Gwen (Patrick) Zeman of Fridley and Dawn Isaksen of Minneapolis.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Erna Isaksen.
