Douglas D. Humble, age 74 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 12 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Douglas Dennis Humble was born October 17, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Arthur and Ethel (Schlipp) Humble. On May 28, 1960 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Barry in Minneapolis. Doug worked as a supervisor for Ceco in Ham Lake, Minnesota doing concrete form work. He retired in 1995 after 44 years with the company.
Doug was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Alexandria RC Flyers Club, where he served as vice president and treasurer.
Doug is survived by his sister, Claudette Cremers of Lexington, Kentucky; nephews, Eric (Laura) Cremers of Spokane, Washington and Dave Hefferan of Bloomington; nieces, Carla Cremers of San Jose, California, Rachel (Billy) Kingery of Starkville, Mississippi, Emily (Jeongwen Chiang) Cremers of Los Angeles, California, Missy (Steve) Clines of Columbus, Ohio, Linda Hefferan of Anoka, Diane (Ken) Quinlan of Sauk Centre, and Mary (Mark) Bennett of Inver Grove Heights; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Chris) Kelly of Ellicot City, Maryland and Virginia Hefferan of Burnsville; special friends, Jo "Dude" Leko of Sauk Centre and Steve and Brenda Hruza of Mounds View.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Betty Humble on May 16, 2000.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bruce Hoffman, Jim Zabel, Ken Quinlan, Steve Hruza, Peter Leko, and John Leko. Serving as cross bearer will be Mike Leko and scripture bearer will be Dave Quinlan. Honorary bearers will be members of the Alexandria RC Flyers Club.
