Dorothy D. Taylor, age 60 of Bertha, formerly of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.

Dorothy was born November 2, 1946 in Glenwood, Minnesota to Arthur and Delores (Jung) Rost. On June 29, 1968 she married Robert Taylor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She worked for St. Paul Public Schools for 12 years and was also a ceramics teacher for St. Paul Community Education for six years. The couple moved to their home on Sauk Lake, near Sauk Centre, in 1990. She was a home health aid for St. Michael's Hospital and then worked as a coordinator for the REM Home in Osakis. For the past year she had resided in Bertha. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Kelly Grant, for the past eight years.She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and was a volunteer at the Clarissa Nursing Home.Dorothy loved her grandkids, her dog, Chase, enjoyed ceramics and crafts, and was known for her great sense of humor. Her family is grateful for the special friendship of her cousin, Sharon.

Survivors include her children, Michele (Pat) Kabat of Newport, Dawn (Kelly) Grant of Bertha, Kenneth (Sheri) Taylor of West St. Paul, Denise (Jason) Springer of Litchfield; step-daughter, Joan (Michael) Bethke of North St. Paul; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Leonard (Judy) Rost of Alexandria, Richard (Mary) Rost of Villard, Jeannie Alphors of New London, and Terry (Paul) Hielle of Sauk Centre; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Taylor, who died on January 9, 1999.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Clarissa Nursing Home.
