Dorothy Fletcher

Dorothy L. Fletcher, age 85 of Sauk Centre, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Marty Porter will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Dorothy Rohde was born January 10, 1924 in Olivia, Minnesota to Carl and Amanda (Stage) Rohde. On September 22, 1945 she married Aurelius "Shorty" Fletcher in Belview, Minnesota. The couple moved to Golden Valley and later returned to Sauk Centre, where they operated Fletcher's Bait Service from 1949 until retiring in 1975. In 1995 they moved near Burtrum and she returned to Sauk Centre following her husband's death in 1999. In 2005 she moved to Riverview Manor and since November of 2008 she had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home.

Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Dorothy loved playing cards, fishing and gardening, crocheting, and enjoyed hunting trips with her husband, Shorty.

Survivors include five sons, Ronald (Genny) Fletcher of Grey Eagle, Thomas (Lori) Fletcher of Sauk Centre, Dennis (Kathy) Fletcher of Sauk Centre, Gary (Katherine) Fletcher of Avon, Kevin (Mary) Crossville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Kuehn of Belview, Violet Dresow of Redwood Falls, Arlene Racine of North Port, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Shorty Fletcher on March 10, 1999; son, Mark in 1968; great-granddaughter, Izabella Fletcher; and brother, Gilbert Rohde.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jason, Paul, Dillon, Kevin, and Shawn Fletcher, and Daryl Rohde.
