Dorothy K. Bromenshenkel, age 79 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating and Rev. Andrew Marthaler concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5:15 p.m. Monday evening followed by the Christian Mothers and Catholic United at 7 p.m.

Dorothy Katherine Bromenshenkel was born December 9, 1932 in Ashley Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Albert and Elizabeth (Meyer) Bromenshenkel. Dorothy spent the major part of her life living and working in the Twin Cities. In 2001, she returned to live in Sauk Centre, where she died on Friday, June 8, 2012.

She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Dorothy loved fishing and traveling to various countries and around the United States.

Survivors include her sisters, Verena Steffes, Irene (Ray) Trisko, Jane (Cyril) Meyer all of Sauk Centre, Esther Winters of West Union, Evelyn (Allen) Siegle of Long Prairie, and Lillian (Eli) Lucas of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Hildegard, Leona, Mildred, and Elsie Bromenshenkel; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elizabeth Bromenshenkel; sisters, Rita Bromenshenkel and Mary Gritzmacher Langer; brothers, Lawrence, Victor, Robert, Leonard, and Allan Bromenshenkel; brothers-in-law, Ed Steffes, Vern Winters, Norman Gritzmacher, and Dan Langer.

Serving as casket bearers will be Don Bromenshenkel, Ron Bromenshenkel, Jim Gritzmacher, Joel Gritzmacher, Paul Siegle, Jason Bromenshenkel, Dwayne Trisko, and Gary Winters. Cross bearer will Jane Meyer and scripture bearer will be Janet Brausen. Gift bearers will be Mary Beth Siegle, Juleen Trisko-Schneider, and Jennifer Lucas. Reading will be done by Ken Meyer and Susan Fix. Serving as Eucharistic minister will be Marilyn Uhlenkamp.
