Dorothy M. Anderson, 89, of Sauk Centre died November 14, 2006 at the St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitors may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and on Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service.
Dorothy Anderson was born November 21, 1916 in Hayward, Minnesota to Arthur and Hattie (Campbell) Johnson. She grew up on the farm in Hayward and later was united in marriage to Andy C. Anderson on March 2, 1938 in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Albert Lea until moving to Minneapolis in 1959. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and playing cards. Dorothy was a member of First Lutheran Church, Sauk Centre.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Achter and Jan Richter (Dave) all of Sauk Centre; sister, Ardell Anderson of Albert Lea; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sisters, Ronald Johnson, Olive Westrum, Marvel Olson, Beatrice Hartz, and Hazel Johnson.
Casket bearers will be grandchildren, Paul and Carla Achter, John and Liddy Achter, Christine and Wayne Fiero, and Jessica and Anjali Richter.
Memorials are preferred.
