Doris Slimmer

Doris L. Slimmer, age 73 of Sauk Centre, died on Monday, February 9, 2004 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Burial will follow at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Doris Slimmer was born on April 21, 1930 in Grey Eagle, Minnesota to Samuel J. and Margaret (Waldvogel) McClintick. She married Kenneth E. Slimmer, Sr. on December 29, 1949 at Kerrville, Texas. She retired in 1991 and moved to Sauk Centre to be close to her sister, Ole Proell. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Slimmer, Jr. (Char) of Alvarado, Texas, James Slimmer (Rita) of Coon Rapids, Cindy Anderson of Inver Grove Heights and Timothy Slimmer of Sauk Centre; brother, Lloyd "Jerome" McClintick (Colleen) of Arizona; four grandchildren, J.J., Billy, Matthew and Sarah; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews on both sides that will deeply miss her kind generosity and fun loving nature. May the Lord bless her and keep her for ever and ever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel "Dome" and Margaret "Maggie" McClintick; husband, Kenneth Slimmer, Sr. on April 1, 1978; and nine sisters.
