Doris M. Budde, age 57 of Albany, passed away peacefully at her home in Albany with her beloved family at her side on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. She fought cancer the way she lived her life, with strength, grace, a strong faith and complete trust in God's plan.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B. officiating and Rev. Julius Beckermann, O.S.B. concelebrating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area in Albany. Parish prayers will be at 4 p.m. Friday evening at the Gathering Area.
Doris was born August 6, 1960, to Joseph and Isabelle (Mueller) Zimmer in St. Cloud, MN. After graduating from Apollo High School, she received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from College of St. Benedict. She then worked at Edina Realty and Metropolitan Federal in the Twin Cities from 1983 until 1994.
Doris was united in marriage to Ronald Budde on July 9, 1994 at St. Joseph's Church in St. Joseph, MN. They made their home on their dairy farm west of Albany where she found her greatest joy in being a wife and mother to their three wonderful children, Nick, Chris and Katie - always loving, guiding, teaching and supporting them.
She had many interests and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, reading, cooking, baking, scrapbooking and crafting. She spent many hours volunteering for her children's religious education, school and sports activities and above all, she treasured spending time with family and friends.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, Ron, and children, Nick, Chris and Katie of Albany; father, Joseph Zimmer of Cold Spring; siblings, Marilyn (Jeff) Cupka of Brooklyn Park, Kathy (LeRoy) Beuning of Avon, David (Kathy) Zimmer of Royalton, Chuck (Karen) Zimmer of Litchfield and Deb (Randy) Lange of St. Cloud; and all of her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Isabelle Zimmer.
Serving as urn bearer will be Dave Zimmer. Cross bearer will be Heidi Eiynck and scripture bearer will be Lora Silvers. Honorary bearers will be Marilyn Cupka, Kathy Beuning, Deb Lange, Lori Rolfs and Krista Budde. Eucharistic Ministers will be Sister Alice Imdieke, Edna Goebel, Sharon Weyer and Sheela Arceneau and serving as gift bearers will be Ken Zimmer and Sarah Lange. The reader will be Jim Welle and music will be by the Van Overbeke family.
