Dorine M. "Sis" Von Wahlde, age 77 of New Munich, died after a two year battle with cancer on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 16 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by St. Anne's Christian Mothers and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Aid Council at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Dorine Margaret Uphoff was born August 29, 1934 in New Munich, Minnesota to Bernard and Frieda (Klaphake) Uphoff. On June 17, 1967 she married Clarence Von Wahlde at Immaculate Conception Church in New Munich. Dorine worked for Dr. Kuhlman doing secretary work. She worked as a teacher's aide for the New Munich and Melrose Schools and volunteered at Sacred Heart School in Freeport as a grandmother.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich where she was an Eucharistic Minister, a member of the St. Anne's Christian Mothers, Immaculate Conception Catholic Aid Council, and the Good Shepherd Mission Group.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Von Wahlde of New Munich; brother, Virgil "Vir" (Shirley) Uphoff of Melrose; sister, Regina "Regie" Sunderman of Sauk Centre; brother-in-law, Jerome Lemm of New Munich; sister-in-law, Sally Uphoff of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Cel Uphoff and Ves Uphoff; sister, Bernie Lemm; sister-in-law, Rose Uphoff; and brother-in-law, Jack Sunderman.
Serving as casket bearers will be Marty Sunderman, Steve Lemm, Tony Rueter, Craig Maus, Bill Nathe, and Greg Uphoff. Cross bearer will be Bryce Nathe and scripture bearer will be Joan Rademacher. Lector will be Mary Krueger. Eucharistic Ministers will be Rosie Ostendorf and Georgine Nathe. Honorary bearers will be St. Anne's Christian Mothers and Immaculate Conception Catholic Aid Council.
