Dorine R. Hoppe, age 88, of New Munich, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church in New Munich. St. Anne's Christian Mothers will pray at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Dorine Rose Krupa was born April 29, 1925 in Elmdale Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to Stanley and Mary (Wagner) Krupa. On October 9, 1945 she was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Hoppe at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis. The couple lived on the family farm for four years until moving to New Munich. Dorine was a homemaker all her life and raised six children. Gene had a stroke in 1986 and after his recovery; the couple loved attending the stroke group in St. Cloud and the many activities the group offered. Dorine enjoyed quilting, embroidering pillow cases and dish towels, sewing clothes and pajamas for the grandkids, and gardening fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich, St. Anne's Christian Mothers, and the New Munich Homemaker's Club.
Survivors include children, Wayne Hoppe, M.D., of Burlington, CO, Sue (Paul) Tembrock of Sartell, Dan Hoppe of New Munich, Vern Hoppe of Apple Valley, Laurie (Shoichi) Sugiyama of Keller, TX, and Andy (Laura) Hoppe of Little Falls; grandchildren, Nick, Melissa, Andy, Matt, Michael, Aaron, Sachi, Hannah, and Sarah; sister, Irene (Denis) Notch of St. Francis; and brother, Firmin (Maggie) Krupa of Cold Spring.
Dorine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene "Gene" Hoppe; daughter-in-law, June (Langer) Hoppe; infant brother, Lester Krupa; brother, Herbert Krupa; and sister, Lillian Hoppe.
Serving as casket bearers will be Michael Hoppe, Aaron Claude, Andy Tembrock, Andy Hoppe, Vern Hoppe, and Dan Hoppe. Cross bearer will be Wayne Hoppe, M.D. and scripture bearer will be Sue Tembrock. Gift bearers will be Hannah Hoppe and Kathleen Tembrock. Readers will be Andy Tembrock and Laurie Sugiyama. Petitions will be read by Hannah Hoppe.
