Donna Vait

Donna R. Vait, age 56, of St. Cloud, formerly of Melrose, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, Minnesota.

Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4 at the Tri-City Christian Center in Freeport with Rev. Geary Smith and Rev. Carol Smith officiating.

Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the Tri-City Christian Center in Freeport.

Donna Vait was born March 17, 1952 in Spencer, Iowa to Everett and Albertine (Galbraith) Long. On May 26, 1973 she was united in marriage to Martin Vait at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, but later divorced. Donna grew up in Osakis and moved to Sauk Centre after marriage. She worked at Jennie-O Foods in Melrose for over 30 years and at Wascosa in St. Cloud. She attended Place of Hope Church in St. Cloud. She loved spending time with her relatives and friends, but especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and helping others.

Survivors include her children, Nancy (Dale) Bosshardt of Melrose, and Mark Vait of Sauk Centre; two grandchildren, Brock and Trisha both at home; and sisters, Deeanne Stone of Sartell, Karen Worden of St. Cloud, Alberta "Birdie" Stetter of Winona, and Judy Kathrein of Little Falls.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Albertine Long; 1 brother and 1 sister.
